The work of Ayodhya airport is to be completed by June 2023

Ayodhya had been a sleepy town on the banks of the Saryu river up until 2019 when the verdict on the Ram Mandir came and the supreme court gave its green flag to the construction of the Grand temple in Ayodhya. Since then the town has consistently been in the limelight for one reason or the other.

There was also a decision in 2019 that warranted the construction of the airport in Ayodhya. The Airport Authority of India has announced that they expect to complete the overall project work of Ayodhya airport by June 2023. The overall cost of the airport development project is around 242 crore. The construction activity includes the construction of a terminal building and the development of airside facilities.

The new terminal building has a total area of 6,000 sq.mts. The design of the building aims to accommodate 300 passengers during peak hours. It has an annual capacity of 6 lakh passengers. The Airport Authority of India has quoted the information.

AAI stated that they have completed 55 percent of the total development, and they will finish the entire project of Ayodhya airport in Uttar Pradesh by June of next year. AAI also mentioned that they have been carrying out the project work round the clock in a comprehensive and fast manner. They believe that they will maintain the project deadlines and will not tolerate any lapses in the schedule, so the work is progressing vigorously.

The spirit of Ram Mandir will be a key tenet and the design of the airport will reflect the idea of the same. The construction of the airport is primarily motivated by the presence of the Ram Mandir, as it is anticipated that Ayodhya will draw millions of visitors from around the world after the temple’s completion. It is a historic site that has undergone reinvention and has required an airport for a long time. The airport itself will inspire a sense of spirituality for all passengers who arrive and depart from it. The specially designed glass facade of the terminal aims to awe passengers and onlookers with beautiful portrayals of the spiritual footprints of the place.
