Airline Fined Rs 1.67 Lakh After Student Was Wrongly Prevented From Boarding A Canada – Bound Flight Due To Schengen Visa Confusion – Flyopedia.ca

Did you know that an airline was fined a sum of Rs. 1.67 lakh recently? Why was that? Flyopedia is here to tell it all. According to our reports, an airline was fined Rs. 1.67 lakh because they wrongly kept a student from boarding their flight. The destination of the flight was Canada and it was all due to a Schengen visa confusion. Get your flights booked after you go through this situation. We will ensure that flight tickets from Canada to India are available for you at all times.

Why was the airline fined a huge sum for preventing a student from boarding their Canada bound flight?

A consumer commission has ruled that an airline must pay Rs 1 lakh in compensation and refund Rs 67,000 to a student. The student was denied boarding as they did not have a transit Schengen visa. The commission carped the airline as they failed to inform the passenger about the visa requirement for layovers in Germany. This became a landmark ruling. Let’s see why.

What happened during the primary incident of this issue?

The airline stopped a student from boarding a Toronto – bound flight because there was a visa – related confusion. This incident included the flight stopping over in Munich and Frankfurt in Germany. As a result, this highlighted the airline’s fault as they failed to inform the flier about the requirement of a transit Schengen visa.

Which people are involved in this incident?

Maharshi Yadav, the protagonist of the case, was going to Canada for his studies. He had a valid student visa and had booked a flight from Mumbai to Toronto. His flight was scheduled to leave on 13th April, 2022. The scheduled flight had 2 layovers, in Munich and Frankfurt, both of which are in Germany. Since now is where the story overturns, learn carefully before getting cheap business class flights to Mumbai with us.

Where did this incident take a drastic turn?

Now, during the check – in process at Mumbai airport, the airline staff informed Maharshi that he required a transit Schengen visa for the layovers. Hence, they denied him boarding the flight because he did not have the necessary documents.

What happened after Maharshi was denied boarding?

Since Maharshi was short on time, he cancelled the ticket and booked an alternate flight with Emirates. This cost him a whopping Rs. 1.70 lakh, all just to get to Canada the next day. As a result, he filed a complaint with the help of his mother and legal counsel Sunil Chhabaria.

He complained to the Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission in Gandhinagar, that the airline did not fulfil its duty. It did not inform the student about the necessary documents he had to have in order to reach Canada. Hence, it was a deficiency of service on the airline’s part.

How did the airline address the issue and what was the result?

The airline explained that Yadav could not have boarded the flight without the Schengen visa and that the flight ticket was non – refundable. Even after this, the commission found that the airline’s services were lacking and ruled in favor of Maharshi.

Commission judgement and statement in their own words

“We are utterly shocked to know that the complainant had a student visa for Toronto. How was he expected to have a transit Schengen visa for Munich and Frankfurt? He was not going to tour in a foreign country.”

“It was the duty of the respondent (airline) to inform or intimate the complainant of the requirement of such a transit visa, but it was not reminded to the complainant by the respondent, which clearly shows a deficiency in service. Therefore, in our considered opinion, the complainant was falsely and painfully stopped at the airport by such opponent authority. Hence, in our considered conclusion, the complainant’s right to travel abroad has been violated by the opponent without resorting to a just, reasonable, and fair procedure established by law.”

A Comprehensive Travel Manual for Exploring Mud Village – Pin Valley

A Comprehensive Travel Manual for Exploring Mud Village – Pin Valley

Mud (or Mudh) is a charming hamlet tucked away in the Pin Valley of India, the last village along the Indo-Tibetan border. It’s a day-trippable destination from Kaza. It might be said that Pin Valley’s center is Mud Village, sometimes spelled Mudh Village. Sangam Village, which is next door, is the largest hamlet in the valley; this one is smaller. But when it comes to tourism, Mud is the place where all visitors to Pin Valley go. Mud Village’s unparalleled calm, magnificent scenery, and equally amazing adventure are all hard to express in words. Thus, in this article, we are going to cover everything you need to know about Mud Village, Pin Valley. So, prepare to book flight tickets from Canada to India and check out this comprehensive travel manual for exploring Mud Village – Pin Valley.

About Mud Village – Pin Valley

Mud Village, one of the 17 villages that make up Pin Valley, has 30 dwellings that house about 200 people. Bollywood discovered this treasure about fifteen years ago. Do you recall the 2003 motion picture “Paap”? Its catchy tunes were recorded at Pin Valley’s Mud Village. The village of Tabo served as the filming location for a few more sequences.

Its very lush appearance is probably because the Pin River flows right next to the settlement. The river provides nutrients to this land and improves the soil’s suitability for crop growth. Travelers became familiar with Mud Village as the starting point for treks to Pin Parvati Pass, Bhabha Pass, and, of course, the entrance to Pin Valley National Park.

The village next to Mud, Sagnam, is a little bigger than the former and has roughly 450 residents distributed among 85 houses. Sagnam, a 127-hectare village, is a popular stop on many travel itineraries that pass through the Spiti Valley since it has a PWD Rest House that provides comfortable accommodation.

Ideal Time to Visit Mud Village – Pin Valley

It is usually advised that you plan your trip to Spiti Valley according to the type of experience you hope to have. Pin Valley displays a variety of hues throughout the year; autumn is my favorite. A riot of yellow, red, golden, orange, and green covers the entire valley. It’s also the ideal time of year to experience the crispness of fall while avoiding the brutal cold of winter.

Summer is the ideal time of year to visit Spiti. In winter, the entire valley is covered with deep snow, yet it is still accessible. Don’t rely on the conveniences of hot water, uninterrupted power, or even clean roads throughout the winter. So, book cheap business class tickets to India with Flyopedia accordingly!

Location

Mud, 50 kilometers from Kaza, is the least populated village in Pin Valley, at an elevation of roughly 3600 meters. They drive from Tabo to Pin Valley and then from Mud Village to Kaza after spending the night sleeping. Travelers typically visit Dhankar Monastery and Dhangkar Lake before spending the night in Mud Village in Pin Valley, which is 65 miles from Tabo.

Mud Village Weather

Mud Village experiences weather that is typical of the Spiti Valley. Summers are lovely, but winters are bitterly cold and covered in snow. The connecting route between Tabo or Kaza and Pin Valley via Atargoo gets disconnected in the winter due to heavy snowfall. Mudh Village gets summer temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, and winter temperatures that are almost below freezing.

Tourist Attractions in Pin Valley

Pin Bhabha Pass Trek

This wonderful but less popular hike starts close to the Mud settlement at the foot of Pin Valley. Pin-Bhabha is a moderately difficult hike that spans an elevation range of 10,000 to 16,000 feet. It is located in the far less-traveled state of Himachal Pradesh. Trekkers on this journey witness incredible vistas, topographical changes, cultural and religious diversity, and the ridge that separates lush green Kinnaur from the desert of Spiti.

Pin Valley National Park

Pin Valley National Park was created in January 1987 and is located in the Spiti Valley within the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve. In the beginning, it served as the border between Lahaul and Spiti Valley. This national park is home to important Buddhist and Tibetan cultural sites, including stupas and monasteries.

The Trail to Pin River

The Gompa, the village temple, is located at one end of a nearly half-kilometer-long road that divides the village. The approach leading to the temple is lined by a row of farms; the verdant surroundings are captivating. After a few minutes of slogging along the trail, the Pin River is crossed by a massive, albeit flimsy, hanging wooden bridge. Furthermore, you can check out Flyopedia.com to book direct flights from USA to India at reasonable prices.

How to Reach Pin Valley?

The most convenient method to go to Pin Valley is to rent a bike or car from Kaza. Since there aren’t many government buses that travel from Kaza to Pin Valley, it might not be convenient for you. Furthermore, the state of Pin Valley Road isn’t the best. It’s an uneven, unpaved dirt road with tons of loose gravel for the most part. Once you enter Pin Valley, the Pin River runs by you to Mud, the last village in the valley. The first village in Pin Valley, Sangnam, is 35 kilometers away from Kaza. Sangnam is the largest village in Pin Valley. It would take an extra fifteen kilometers of driving to get to Mud village from Sangnam.

Bottom Line

Mud is a remote community at the end of Pin Valley. Every part of the Pin Valley is different from the rest of Spiti. Spiti is the chilly, dark desert; the pin is green. Mud became even more well-known when it was designated as a National Park because not many well-known treks started or finished here.
