Magnetic Hill, Leh Ladakh

Magnetic Hill Leh Ladakh

The location suits

People who enjoy long drives and are curious of natural wonders

What it entails

The reason why this hill got its name is because when you park a car here with its engine off in the specified location, the car still moves up the hill at a speed of 20 km/h. It is a stretch located 7.5 km southeast of Nimmoo and 26.5 km west of Leh if you arrive through the Srinagar – Ladakh road, part of the Leh – Kargil Highway.

Digboi, Assam

Digboi Assam

The location suits

People with a love for history of India and its historical firsts

What it entails

Digboi is quite unheard of, even as a travel destination since it is a small town in the Tinsukia district of Assam. However, unlike the other places, instead of having architectural or natural wonders, the tiny town is home for a lot of historical firsts of India. Crude oil was discovered here and the first oil well of Asia was dug here consequently. Check this out by booking an air ticket from Canada to India on Flyopedia now!

Living Root Bridge, Meghalaya

Living Root Bridge Meghalaya

The location suits

People who love nature and creativity, and enjoy unique natural scenes

What it entails

Made from the aerial roots of rubber fig trees, the bridges take up regular scenes in the southern region of Meghalaya. The longest living root bridge in India is 50 m in length, in the Khasi town of Pynursla. These bridges use nothing man-made and yet hold strong on their own, looking nothing short of a scene from a fairytale.

Shettihalli Rosary Church, Karnataka

Shettihalli Rosary Church Karnataka

The location suits

People who love adventure and architecture, especially Gothic styles

What it entails

Built by the French Missionaries in the 1860s, the church has architecture reminiscent of the historical European buildings. It is also submerged so when looked from a distance, it seems like it is floating. Located 2 km from Shettihalli, Hassan in Karnataka, the place gives a forlorn vibe as it was deserted after the construction of Hemavathi Dam and Reservoir.

5 Easy Tips to Escape the High Flight Ticket Cancellation Charges

5 Easy Tips to Escape the High Flight Ticket Cancellation Charges

Flight ticket cancellation always seems to be a nightmare. However, understanding specific terminology for cancelling tickets can be helpful for a smooth travel experience. Also, it is important to read the fine print on the back of your tickets in order to determine how and when it will be best to cancel them. Since every airline has its unique cancellation policy, there are no clear-cut rules for any given flight.

Thankfully, for the airlines that still charge a hefty cancellation fee, there are some ways to cut those charges or even totally avoid them. We’ve gathered 5 easy tips to escape the high flight ticket cancellation charges. These tips can help you save money depending on how many people are traveling on your schedule, so it’s crucial to keep them in mind when you travel. For instance, if you have booked direct flights from Canada to India and you’ve to cancel them, knowing these tips can help you save a large sum.

1. Buy Zero Cancellation Service

Buy Zero Cancellation Service 01

Buy tickets with no cancellation fees. Airlines provide a little payment that allows you to cancel your reservations without incurring any additional fees. But if you travel on the days of your choosing, this money is lost forever. This extra charge functions similarly to an insurance premium in that it disappears if not used, but you still have to pay the premium.

As a result, even if you purchase a ticket for INR 6300 when the actual cost is INR 6000, you will still save INR 6000. Although choose this option only if you are unclear about your vacation schedule.

2. Buying Separate Tickets for Onward and Return

Buying Separate Tickets for Onward and Return

Return tickets offer a more affordable option for purchasing both onward and return tickets. One drawback is that if you miss the connecting flight, the airline will treat you as a NO SHOW and you will lose your return ticket. You cannot cancel individual forward or return tickets. If you want real flexibility, buy your tickets for your next destination and return separately. Although it will cost slightly extra, it will provide you with some leverage, including

  • You may choose to cancel specific forward or return journeys.
  • If you miss your connecting flight, you can still return to the original trip by taking another one.

Note: This strategy is not recommended if you plan to return the next day or the day following. For example, if you booked a morning flight from YYZ to HYD and a return flight from HYD to YYZ on the same day on a single PNR, you would be qualified for a full refund if your onward flight was canceled, let’s say due to fog. However, as the return ticket is a standalone one, the airline would only refund the onward ticket if you purchased two separate tickets and the nighttime return flight operates as scheduled.

Similar to this, it will be easier to change or cancel if you book a separate ticket for each passenger. If you sense that one of the passengers might want to cancel or reschedule, book separate tickets for each person even though it may be a bit cumbersome.

3. Opt for Flexi Fare Options

Opt for Flexi Fare Options

A Flexi fare ticket is one that includes extra perks like date changes, reimbursements for cancellations, the ability to pay later alternatives, etc. Before purchasing Flexi fare tickets, you should read the fine print because it contains all the information. A Flexi fare can be useful if you don’t care about finding the cheapest flight fares; the extra cost is worthwhile! This is definitely the best choice for a solitary tourist. You must carefully review each airline’s policy to determine whether paying extra for them is actually worth it. If you believe these have value, then reserve them; otherwise, do not.

4. Buy Travel Insurance

Buy Travel Insurance

While travel insurance can’t stop your flight from being canceled, it might be able to reimburse you for unplanned costs if it does. Buying travel insurance is one of the best ways to get your ticket refund. For cancellation charges, different plans have different requirements. Any cancellation results in a supplementary fee. Charges for cancellation are covered by typical travel insurance. Travel insurance is covered for a period of up to 21 days following the initial payment date. Travel insurance provides coverage for a variety of reasons for cancellation, including medical prescriptions against travel, unexpected crises, and travel to prohibited areas.

5. Utilize 24 Hours no Questions Asked Cancellation/Hold-PNR Provision

Utilize 24 Hours no Questions Asked Cancellation

Within the first 24 hours of purchase, Jet Airways offers a 100% refund for canceled tickets. People obtain a fare lock for 24 hours during which they must confirm and make payment from the majority of airlines, known as hold-PNR.You have the choice to phone the airline’s customer service line and ask questions before purchasing a ticket, pay after you’ve made up your mind, and cancel your reservation if you change your mind (but no later than 24 hours before your scheduled departure).

To Sum Up

As we know, nobody is able to foresee when they will want to change their travel arrangements. We are aware that it is best to prepare for the worse. If there is even the remotest possibility that your plans will change, you must choose the most secure route to avoid paying cancellation costs on your airline tickets. Additionally, you can use Flyopedia for simple alternatives and savings on ticket cancellation. Flyopedia is unquestionably one of the best travel websites for booking cheap flights to India from Canada, hassle-free ticket cancellations, and finding travel deals for your forthcoming vacation.
