The Only Guide You Need For USA To India Travel

India has always been a stunning salmagundi of flavors, cultures, sights, traditions and whatnot. You just need to be better prepared. All you need to do is check out business class flight ticket price on Flyopedia after you read this article. With everything geared up and ready to go, you are all set to travel from the USA to India.

Here’s what you need to know before traveling to India

Tip #1 Prepare your passport and visa

Prepare your passport and visa

The most important tip takes the first priority. You need to prepare for your visa and passport so that you get the documents on time before the date of your intended journey. Apply for your visa beforehand after researching what is the most relevant one for you- from tourist visa, business visa and medical / medical assistant visa.

For your passport, ensure that it does not expire after even 6 months of your date of return from India. If it is going to expire, renew your passport immediately to avoid complications in the future.

Tip #2 Plan your itinerary in advance

Plan your itinerary in advance

This is a process that requires attention to detail. While you can’t plan every minute of every single day, it helps to have a general idea of what you are going to do, where and how long it might take. You also need to check out the locations you are planning to visit in India- what do they have to offer, shopping areas, best places to try out the local cuisine, sights to see, etc.

You also need to research the seasons that are best to visit, the festivals you can experience in that time frame and free experiences you may enjoy, if any. There are gazillions of information sites, travel logs, blogs, travel websites and more to provide information on all such topics. Make a list and schedule your days accordingly. You can also check out the Canada to India flight price at Flyopedia before booking your journey tickets, if you live in Canada.

Tip #3 Learn basic local etiquette

Learn basic local etiquette

This is something that needs homework. You don’t need to become an expert, but having some basic knowledge works wonders. When you put your efforts in learning things that locals do, you bear the sweet fruits of that labor as well because locals warm up to you and you get to experience things you may not have before. Keep some tips in mind like removing your footwear before entering someone’s home or religious places, covering your head with a cloth when entering religious locations, dressing suitably, etc.

Tip #4 Always stay connected with your loved ones

Always stay connected with your loved ones

While one may not always think it is important, people back home worry about you no matter whether you want them to or not. Also, it is safe from a security point of view to have someone know your whereabouts constantly. Flyopedia recommends getting a local sim card from the airport or the authorised vendors. Always update your loved ones back home about your location and get an internet pack so you can stay connected to GPS, even in Wi-Fi- less areas. If you’re living in Canada, you may also consider getting Canada to flights India on Flyopedia so they can enjoy all that India has to offer with you.

Safe travels!

Airports Of The World Where You Don't Need A Boarding Pass

Airports Of The World Where You Don’t Need A Boarding Pass

How many times have you experienced long waiting hours for a layover or long checking in hours, or even when you are in a rush but printing the boarding pass takes time? While beginners to flight journeys wouldn’t probably mind, experienced fliers would want to avoid it at all costs. It doesn’t matter whether they are on comfy flights from Canada to India or to anywhere from anywhere.

the Government of India launched DigiYatra

Thankfully, the Government of India launched DigiYatra on 1st December, 2022. One may ask what it is about. We’ll explain. DigiYatra is, in official terms, a Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel (BEST) experience where the government provides paperless travel to passengers based on facial recognition technology.

In India, you can find DigiYatra being used at Bengaluru, Varanasi, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad airports. Currently, it is not mandatory to use DigiYatra for passengers and can be used voluntarily for free. It also reduces the check- in time drastically so we don’t see a reason not to adopt it where available. We wish to improve by activating the service at all Indian airports and international destinations as well.Right now, it is only available for domestic routes of flights.

DigiYatra also has an app available in Google Play Store for Android and iOS users. The app links the flier’s boarding pass to the FRS, i.e. The Facial Recognition System, which confirms their identity. Apart from this, technology around the aviation industry has been improving by leaps and bounds across the world.

Even when the pandemic forced us to go contactless, many safety measures were introduced to keep everyone safe. These ranged from smart check- ins, digitized security gates and many more such steps to ensure everyone followed the guidelines. However, and we come with more good news, you should also know that there are a few other airports around the world which have changed to biometric boarding than printed paper passes for all types of flights, including cheap first class flights.

Now without further ado, let us get to the airports of the world where you do not need to print out a boarding pass to travel via air.

  1. India- Bengaluru, Delhi, Varanasi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune Airports
  2. Tokyo, Japan- Narita International Airport and Haneda International Airport
  3. Malaysia- Kuala Lumpur International Airport
  4. France- Orly Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
  5. Hong Kong- Hong Kong International Airport
  6. United Arab Emirates- Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai International Airport
  7. United Kingdom- Heathrow Airport and Manchester Airport
  8. Spain- Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport
  9. Germany- Munich International Airport and Frankfurt Airport
  10. USA

The usual way this works is by submitting the passenger’s identification, uploading a selfie picture and the boarding pass details. Once at the airport, passengers use electronic gates that use facial identification of sorts to verify the passenger instead of using boarding passes. This makes the process that much smoother and hassle free for the fliers, especially those on international flights, long haul flights, red- eye flights or cheap last minute flights. So if you are planning to travel to one of the above locations, don’t forget to check it out!
