According to the Canadian rules and regulations, you need to declare any food products upon arrival. This will help you avoid any penalties or confiscation when you reach your destination. You can carry up to 20 kilograms. Or, 44 pounds are allowed per person of fresh fruits and vegetables, provided they are free from pests and diseases. Potatoes must be commercially packaged and graded.

Up to 5 dozen eggs are allowed per person.
All species are generally allowed, except for pufferfish and Chinese mitten crab.

Inspection: You have to be prepared for inspections by the CBSA. To make this process smooth, double check if all food items are properly packaged and labeled.
