1st day: 29th October 2024

This day is called Chhoti Diwali, meaning ‘little Diwali’. On this day, people celebrate the victory of Lord Krishna over demon Narakasura. It symbolises the victory of good over evil. 3rd day: 1st November 2024

The main day of Diwali, where people celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. He returned after defeating the demon king Ravana. And people enjoy the day’s festivities by lighting up all the corners of their home, including the dark ones. Everyone lights up rows of diyas, candles, string lights, etc to illuminate their home, shops, etc. brightly.

4th day: 2nd November 2024

On this day, Lord Krishna lifted Govardhan hill on his pinky finger to protect the villagers from torrential rains and floods. Worshippers and people celebrating this day prepare vegetarian food without ginger or garlic. They also prepare sweets and offer both to Lord Krishna.

5th day: 3rd November 2024

The last day symbolises the bond between siblings and families. People come together on this day to share mouthwatering feasts, exchange hugs and gifts, and share the love.
