Since India opened its international borders after the covid-19 pandemic, the travel industry has been booming and air travel has picked up a rapid pace. And as per the needs and requirements, the government has been implementing preventive measures and updating the rules and guidelines often. It has recently updated the travel guidelines for passengers arriving on Canada to India flights, considering all the necessary precautions that passengers should take upon landing in India. The health ministry of India revised the guidelines some days back and if you are flying to India on Canada to India flights then you need to take a look at the below-mentioned guidelines to avoid unnecessary hassle at the last moment.
A) The self-declaration forms are available at the online Airsuvidha portal (https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration). Register here and fill in the complete and factual information before the scheduled travel including the last 14 days’ travel details.
B) Submit the data pertaining to the negative covid-19 RT-PCR report. (the test must have taken place within 72 hours before the journey) or vaccination certificates will also suffice for this purpose..
C) The passenger who will board Canada to India flights must also submit a declaration with respect to the authenticity of the report and may be liable for criminal prosecution if found wrong.
2) Passengers arriving on last minute flights from Canada also need to provide an undertaking on the Ministry of Civil Aviation portal through the concerned airlines before they receive clearance for the journey. They must commit to following the decisions of the appropriate government authority even after arrival and may have to undergo post-arrival quarantine or isolation as required.
A) They can randomly test 2 percent of arriving passengers.
B) They must collect samples from passengers belonging to different countries, and if they test positive, send their samples for genomic testing at the INSACOG laboratory network.
C) They will isolate those who test positive according to the protocol. Travelers must self-monitor their health for the next fourteen days after arrival.
D) The passengers who are on self-health monitoring develop signs and symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 must report to the nearest medical facility or call the helpline number immediately.
