A Major Win For India As It Jumps To The 48th Spot In Global Aviation Safety

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has ranked India 48th among the safest countries for aviation. India, which had a previous ranking of 102nd in 2018, now ranks among the top 50 countries for the best aviation safety in the latest ICAO rankings. According to DGCA officials, this ranking also positions India ahead of China (49) and represents India’s highest-ever ranking, which will assist domestic airlines in their international expansion with last minute flights. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) announced in a series of tweets that the ICAO has given the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) the highest Effective Implementation (EI) score of 85.49 percent.

“India is now a prominent player among the top 50 countries in terms of aviation safety, according to the most current @icao rankings.” “This significant development will aid Indian airlines in their global expansion,” it stated. Following the country’s highest-ever ranking in the ICAO aviation safety rankings, DGCA chief Arun Kumar stated on Sunday that the challenge now is to maintain and improve the air safety ecosystem.

The comments also coincide with the aviation sector in the country slowly recovering from the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with domestic air traffic approaching pre-pandemic levels.

“A robust supervision system that professionals have approved and recognized is essential for flight safety and provides comfort to the flying public…” last-minute flights.” The DGCA team has worked relentlessly to improve aviation safety for local and international flights from India.

In July, the DGCA chief addressed various technical problems faced by domestic airlines, stating that these problems did not have the potential to cause havoc. He also affirmed that the country’s civil aviation space adhered to all ICAO protocols, ensuring it was ‘absolutely safe.
